The Space Coast National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Chapter held their Block Kids Building Competition at Hans Christian Andersen in Rockledge on Saturday, January 28th.

Ed Kinberg and Aaron Thalwitzer were judges for the competition along with other members of the construction industry. Widerman Malek sponsored the breakfast for the judges and provided a great breakfast that was appreciated by all.

Harrison Thalwitzer was the 1st place winner for his grade level and also the overall contest winner! Congratulations Harrison! His project will be entered into the National Block Kids Contest.

Keyton Garber won 2nd place in the Kindergarten competition. The fun projects coupled with the plastic hard-hats encouraged the children’s imagination and an enjoyable time was had by all.

Widerman Malek, PL is pleased to announce that Attorney Edward J. Kinberg has been awarded the rating of Super Lawyers for a third year and Attorney Aaron Thalwitzer and Attorney Kelly Swartz have been selected as Rising Stars.

Attorney Kinberg practices in the areas of government contracts and construction law. Attorney Thalwitzer practices in the areas of litigation, real estate and business law. Attorney Swartz is a licensed patent attorney who practices in the areas of intellectual property and drone law. Attorney Kinberg has been awarded this honor since 2014. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Rising Star candidates must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. The Rising Star recognition is only awarded to 2.5% of young lawyers in Florida.


LEAD Brevard, the county wide leadership and development organization, announced its annual 4 Under 40 Business Leadership Awards on February 12, 2016, at FIT’s Gleason Auditorium. Widerman Malek, PL is very pleased to announce that Aaron Thalwitzer, a partner with the firm, was selected as one of the winners.
The criteria for nominees included demonstrated excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession. It was also important for them to be seen as role models for others personally and professionally and to contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community. Aaron is the second Widerman Malek, PL attorney to be chosen for the 4 Under 40 Leadership Award, following Managing Partner Mark Malek, who was selected in 2011.

We are honored to announce that Aaron Thalwitzer of Widerman Malek, PL has been selected as a finalist for LEAD Brevard’s  12th Annual ‘4 under 40’ Leadership Awards. He has been selected from a distinguished group of accomplished community leaders.

Aaron serves on the Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, the Brevard County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, the West Melbourne Business Association, the Legal Studies Advisory Board of Keiser University, and the City of Melbourne Babcock Street Community Redevelopment District. Aaron is also a Justice Teacher at the Jewish Community School in Melbourne, Florida. Several of his scholarly articles have been published, and he was honored by the Florida Supreme Court for his essay, “Professionalism: Rekindling Greatness.”
