Widerman Malek team members attended the Junior Achievement of the Space Coast Business Hall of Fame event on March 5, 2016. At the event, Harris Corporation chief executive officer Bill Brown and retired local attorney Bill Potter were inducted as laureates into the Business Hall of Fame. Widerman Malek managing partner, Mark Malek, was the keynote speaker at the event. Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators, and volunteers, Junior Achievement of the Space Coast helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school, building a bridge between what kids learn in the classroom to how it is applied in the real world. JA inspires students to develop competitive skills and confidence. Their success bolsters the local workforce and contributes to economic growth. On Friday March 6, 2014, Brevard PALS held their annual wine tasting event. PALS is an organization in Brevard County that “Provides Autism Links and Supports” and is associated with the University of Central Florida. The event was hosted by Mark and Aileen Malek, who are pictured above along with Widerman Malek, PL Paralegal Michelle Crees and Dayne Barrow. The event was a resounding success and provided attendees with great information on the advances that Brevard PALS has made and how their services touch the lives of those affected by Autism. Aaron Thalwitzer, a Partner at Widerman Malek, PL, was named a finalist for the 2015 LEAD Brevard 4 Under 40 Leadership Award. Aaron was honored to be chosen from among a number of worthy nominees in recognition of his community involvement, professional dedication, and strong leadership in the Brevard County area. Aaron continues the firm’s tradition of community involvement, as he is the second Widerman Malek, PL attorney to be nominated as a finalist for this award in the past five years, following the firm’s Managing Partner, Mark Malek, who was honored with the 4 Under 40 Award in 2011.

Widerman Malek was pleased to sponsor the Stone Royal Gophers, pictured below.  This group of very talented students compete in Lego Robotics and they won the Highest Score on the Robot Runs, and the Champion’s Award.  This award recognizes a team that embodies the FLL experience, by fully embracing the Core Values while achieving excellence and innovation in both the Robot Game and Project. They had the overall highest score in all 4 categories (Technical, Core Values, Project, and Robot Run) combined and were continuously  complimented on their gracious professionalism and team spirit.  These kids are very special, and the entire staff at Widerman Malek congratulate them on their achievement.
