October 27th began with lots of food as the office celebrated its annual “Boss’s Day Breakfast.” The staff brought in delicious homemade casseroles, pastries, fruits, donuts, juices and many other palatable breakfast items to share with their team members. The Widerman Malek Boss’s Day Breakfast is always a great time to visit with friends and enjoy a great meal with fellow colleagues.

Widerman Malek, PL’s law firm was well represented at The International Drone Conference and Exposition (InterDrone) in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 7- 9th. Widerman Malek’s Unmanned Aerial Systems/Drone law group provided a table and information for attendees. The table was manned by Managing Partner, Attorney Mark Malek, Attorney Kelly Swartz and Attorney Ed Kinberg. Attorneys Swartz and Kinberg also spoke on Business Law for UAS/Drone Companies. The Exposition was attended by approximately 3500 companies and individuals from around the U.S. and 50 foreign countries hoping to get a jump start in this rapidly growing industry.

Mark Malek, Managing Partner of Widerman Malek, PL. attended a roundtable discussion with United States Senator Marco Rubio on Friday August 19, 2016 at Space Florida. The Senator was so well versed on the needs of the Space Coast and on how to enhance the Aerospace and Space industry in Florida. The Senator discussed energizing the American public about the space program, and expressed his thoughts that commercializing technology that is born out of the space program will help. A humorous side note from the Senator was that the Space Program is not just responsible for Tang!

The discussion with Senator Rubio then turned to education and different ways how we can interest youth about aerospace. Senator Rubio was ever enthusiastic about introductions to aerospace and STEM education at younger ages for our children. There were several other topics discussed at the roundtable, but one thing is for certain – Senator Rubio is dedicated to the aerospace and space industries, not just for the good of Florida, but for the good of the United States. We thank Senator Rubio for taking the time to meet with us this morning and look forward to working with him on this endeavor.

A great time was had by all at the Boy Scout Central Florida Golden Eagle Dinner on March 30th at the Holiday Inn, Viera. This dinner is a major fundraiser for the Boy Scouts in our area and is always well supported by our community.

The boys did an awesome job presenting the colors and speaking about their experiences with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. The importance of Boy Scouts in improving the lives of many in our community was evident.

Attorney Brett Hyde of Widerman Malek, PL was the host at the Widerman Malek table and helped to facilitate a successful evening.
