Civil Litigation Legal Assistant

Widerman Malek is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join our growing civil litigation department in our Melbourne, Florida office.

This is a full-time position and an opportunity to establish a long-term career at our growing firm. This is not a transitional position.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, reviewing and finalizing legal documents
  • Working directly with clients to gather and organize information
  • Managing case files
  • Speaking with new and existing clients on the phone and in-person
  • Scheduling consultations and maintaining calendars for the department
  • Filing, faxing, emailing, and scanning documents
  • Communicating with other legal professionals
  • Maintaining electronic docket system
  • Performing special projects, as needed
  • Answering telephones cordially
  • Assisting with administrative duties, as requested

Candidates must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, as well as maintaining a personal and professional presentation. Additionally, you must be an excellent communicator and well-organized. You also must be proficient with computers and standard software programs, particularly Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.


A degree in legal studies and law office experience are preferred. Experience in PracticeMaster case management software is a plus.
