Blake Buchanan combines a background in hardware and software development with his patent experience to assist his clients in pursuing patent and trademark protection, advising their patent portfolios, and providing patentability assessments. Before becoming a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Blake worked as an electrical engineer in the defense industry.
Blake has worked with many different areas of technology during his patent career including aerospace, computer hardware and software, digital and analog circuits, biomedical electronics, mechanical technology, networks, semiconductors, microprocessors, wireless technology, electrical materials, optics, additive manufacturing, and cyber security.
Blake values serving the community through his church, on the planning and zoning commission in his hometown, as a mentor to the local high school robotics club, as a member of Mensa, and as a reserve engineering duty officer in the United States Navy. Recently Blake helped found and start the Rockwall Makerspace in Rockwall, TX. Blake, his wife, and 3 year old son enjoy the outdoors and traveling. Blake’s current passion is passing on his scratch golfing skills to his son and teaching him how to be a cowboy!
