Litigation Legal Assistant Position

Widerman Malek, PL located in Melbourne, Fl. is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join its growing litigation department.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Reviewing and finalizing documents
  • Preparation of legal documents
  • Working directly with clients to gather and organize information
  • Must be highly motivated, well organized and a team player
  • Management of case files
  • Speaking with new and existing clients on the phone and in person
  • Scheduling consultations and maintaining calendars for the office
  • Filing, faxing, emailing, and scanning documents
  • Communicating with other legal professionals
  • Maintaining electronic docket system
  • Perform special projects, as needed
  • Answering telephones cordially
  • Assist with administrative duties, as requested
  • Ability to self-initiate, but not above asking for help
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a personal and professional presentation. You must be an excellent communicator, well organized, and proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe Professional.


A 2 year degree, with 3-5 years of law office experience required. A 4 year degree in legal studies or paralegal studies is a plus, but not required. Experience in TABS billing software is also a plus.
