SCOTT “SJ” JABLONSKI JOINS WIDERMAN MALEK, PL AS PARTNER
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Widerman Malek, PL is pleased to announce that Scott “SJ” Jablonski has joined the firm as Partner. Scott is a business law practitioner who brings a welcomed degree of experience, skill, sophistication and pedigree to enhance the firm’s business law practice and complement its other practice areas.
A member of the Florida and District of Columbia Bars, Scott graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor on Law Review and earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in International & Comparative Law. He also earned a Master’s degree in Public & International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science and Foreign Languages/International Studies from Gannon University in Erie, Pa. While at Gannon University, he played for its then nationally-ranked NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Team.
Scott began his legal career in Miami where he practiced a mix of real estate law, corporate law and commercial litigation. Scott went on to focus his practice on corporate governance, corporate finance transactions and private securities, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and complex commercial contracts with a heavy cross-border component involving Latin America and Europe. Scott has been published numerous times in areas related to private international law.
Scott joins Widerman Malek after running a successful solo practice focusing on representing entrepreneurs and small- to medium-sized businesses in a broad range of matters involving both corporate transactions and commercial dispute resolution in Florida and federal courts. Scott’s representative experience spans a variety of industries, including the insurance, energy, technology, telecommunications, real estate development, retail and wholesale distribution, food and beverage, music entertainment, and digital and social media industries. He works fluently in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Scott is also an entrepreneur in the music business and an award-winning acoustic artist. He pioneered his own independent music career and has worked with Grammy® Award winning engineers, earning dozens of independent music awards and nominations, and charting original songs on commercial and non-commercial U.S. radio in the AC, Hot AC, AAA and Americana formats. In 2011, he was nominated by SiriusXM® The Coffeehouse as a Discovery of the Year. He has toured the United States both headlining shows and festivals and as a supporting act for Grammy® Award winning artists such as Pentatonix and Ed Sheeran. Scott’s original music has been licensed for use in film, TV and commercials around the world. He and his wife decided to make Melbourne, Fla. their home after falling in love with the area. They have a son.
