Widerman Malek, PL located in Melbourne, Fl. is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join its growing civil litigation department. This is a full-time position and an opportunity to establish a long-term career at our growing firm. This is not a transitional position. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a personal and professional presentation. Read more about this position.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, reviewing and finalizing legal documents
  • Working directly with clients to gather and organize information
  • Managing case files
  • Speaking with new and existing clients on the phone and in person
  • Scheduling consultations and maintaining calendars for the department
  • Scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, etc.
  • Filing, faxing, emailing, and scanning documents
  • Communicating with other legal professionals
  • Maintaining electronic docket system
  • Performing special projects, as needed
  • Answering telephones cordially
  • Assisting with administrative duties, as requested

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a personal and professional presentation. You must be an excellent communicator, well organized, and proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe Professional.

Experience:

A degree in legal studies and law office experience preferred. Experience in PracticeMaster case management software a plus.
