FedBizOpps is Undergoing a Transition

The Federal Business Opportunities website (FBO.gov), along with all the other government wide acquisition systems managed by the Integrated Award Environment, is being modernized and consolidated under the “beta.SAM.gov” system.

This consolidation will provide not only better security, data quality and convenience for users, but will also reduce barriers for doing business with the government, reduce reporting requirements and increase transparency into federal spending.  This change is scheduled to take effect in November of 2019.

The “beta” part of the name will eventually be phased out when the entire system has migrated and will be known as “SAM.gov.”  This new site will become the authoritative website for federal government contracting opportunities.

In order to be prepared for this transition, Widerman Malek is asking its clients to do the following:

  • Confirm your company’s information on FBO.gov
  • Create your beta.SAM.gov account using login.gov

At some point our clients will need to migrate their roles or request a role under the new system.  This cannot, however, happen until approximately 4-6 weeks before the FBO.gov website is completely decommissioned.

Additional information in the form of a video can be found at the following link:  https://beta.sam.gov/cm/videos/detail?id=231
