Jared Widerman is an associate attorney focusing on business litigation and real estate matters. He represents business and property owners, small and midsize companies, and large corporations in contract disputes, ownership conflicts, and complex commercial issues. Jared also draws upon his background in environmental science to handle select matters involving environmental law and land use.
He earned his law degree from Barry University School of Law, where he received an Honors Certificate in Environmental Law, Jurisprudence, and Justice. During law school, he gained hands-on litigation experience through internships in private practice, the State Attorney’s Office, and university legal clinics. He also contributed to environmental projects, including St. John’s River assessments and protection of land from municipal overdevelopment in Orange County.
Before law school, Jared received a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Public Relations and Advertising from the University of South Florida, with a Minor in Environmental Science and Policy. This training in communication and policy adds a valuable dimension to his legal advocacy, allowing him to distill complex issues into clear, persuasive arguments. His areas of interest also include entertainment law and constitutional advocacy.
Beyond his legal practice, Jared is actively engaged in community and volunteer initiatives. He has supported local efforts such as Keep Brevard Beautiful and educational programming through Brevard Zoo. He also serves on the Youth Advisory Board for Who We Play For, a national nonprofit dedicated to eliminating preventable sudden cardiac death in youth through affordable heart screenings, AED programs, and community advocacy, where he champions greater awareness and preventive measures in schools and athletics.
Sports have been a part of Jared’s life since early childhood. During law school, Jared would spend his free time playing and coaching soccer. Jared is a coach for Striker Soccer and was the head coach for Olympia High School where Jared coached the team to the schools first Girls Soccer District Championship and Regionals semi-finals reflecting his dedication to teamwork and leadership both on and off the field. Jared was also awarded the Metro Conference Coach of the Year – Girls Soccer – West award for the 24/25 school year.
When Jared is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and quiet evenings together on their growing farm.
