Josh Porteous is an attorney at Widerman Malek with a practice in civil litigation, corporate, entertainment, and real estate law. He represents businesses, property owners, associations, and management groups in contracts, disputes, and compliance matters.
In real estate and litigation, Josh works with HOAs, COAs, and property managers. With experience as in-house counsel and as a property manager, he advises on contracts, compliance, disputes, and operations. He also offers a subscription-based outside counsel model for predictable legal support.
Before joining Widerman Malek, Josh co-founded a property management company that continues to operate. As in-house counsel, he managed contracts, compliance, and property-related legal issues, gaining practical insight into the challenges faced by owners, managers, and associations.
Josh earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He completed undergraduate studies in Washington, D.C., at Washington College, where he excelled academically and captained the basketball team all four years. Originally from Cocoa Beach and now a Melbourne resident, Josh brings the leadership, work ethic, and team-focused mindset he developed on and off the court to his client relationships.
