A.B. Majeed brings decades of judicial and legal experience to his work at Widerman Malek, where he focuses on civil litigation, mediation, and enhancing all practice areas across the firm.

As a former county court judge, A.B. helps parties resolve disputes with efficiency, fairness, and respect. Drawing on more than two decades on the bench, he provides an impartial and solution-oriented environment for resolving civil and commercial conflicts. His approach emphasizes practical outcomes, clear communication, and minimizing the financial and emotional toll of litigation. From business and contract disputes to personal and community matters, clients value his calm demeanor, balanced judgment, and ability to guide complex cases toward resolution.

He served as a Brevard County Court judge for 24 years, becoming the county’s longest-serving judge. First appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles in 1992, he later won an election countywide and made history as the first person of color elected to a countywide office in Brevard County.

Throughout his career, A.B. has been recognized for his fairness, professionalism, and deep commitment to public service. At Widerman Malek, he brings that same dedication to clients seeking resolution through mediation and to the continued growth of the firm’s practice groups.

A.B. began his legal career serving indigent clients at Community Legal Services in Philadelphia before working as a criminal defense attorney, assistant public defender, and assistant state attorney.

He earned degrees from Howard University and the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.

Born in Guyana to descendants of Indian indentured servants, A.B. immigrated to the United States in 1969 and has spent more than 50 years serving his community through law and public service.
