Widerman Malek is proud to be the Breakfast Sponsor for the 2019 “Block Kids” competition sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
The Block Kids Program is a national building competition sponsored on the local level by the Space Coast Florida Chapter, NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction). The program introduces children (Grades K thru 6) to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of, and to promote an interest in, future careers in one of the many facets of the industry. The contest is the 45-minute construction of a “project” relevant to the construction industry made from plastic building blocks, a rock, a string, and a piece of aluminum foil. Each child’s project is judged by construction professionals and other business people from our community utilizing predetermined criteria.
Ed Kinberg, a government contract and construction law attorney, has been sponsoring this event since its inception approximately 20 years, originally through his firm Kinberg & Associates, LLC with continued sponsorship through Widerman Malek after the firms merged in 2015.
